DIRECTING “TROUBLE” FOR RECORDING ARTIST DEAN RISKO

For those who follow me on twitter, you know I was on set directing again the other day. This time it was for Utah-turned-LA recording artist Dean Risko, gearing up to drop his first few singles this week. We decided to rent out Los Angeles nightclub BOULEVARD 3 and do a day shoot with a small group of folks - Lighting, hair & makeup, a few PA’s, a leading lady and of course starring Mr. Risko himself. We shot a video for his first single “Trouble” which turned out to be no trouble at all. Some of my squad The Getback came out to support the shoot, and ended up helping PA for the rest of the day. This is basically the dream I am chasing - to create art with the people I love. That list of people will surely grow, but there are some key foundation folks that I am in LA with now who complete the dream for me. This video had all the fun things going on to make it a great shoot - rapping, singing, dancing, acting, partial nudity, fog, a rotating stage, and a stripper pole. It was the perfect set-up for a video that pokes fun at the LA/Hollywood myth. This shoot was a great experience - a good team, location, talent, and just enough gear to pull it off. Below are some photos from the set, as soon as I’ve got it edited and it’s public I will be sure to post it here. Not pictured is me on a 20-foot lift for the final shot… Perhaps it was one of those you-had-to-be-there moments. Getback.
