11 Nov BEACHES (#NEWPOETS) – VIDEO
I have been long scheming on this new series for #NEWPOETS to bring my short poetry to life. This past weekend I had the privilege of finding myself on a small private island in the Bahamas, with good friends and life-changing experiences. It was there that I finally felt ready to begin. Here Above is my first installment, for a new poem called #BEACHES.

Let’s just love each other now, yeah?
Before the tides pull and the wind shifts
Before we sober ourselves with our curfews
And the mainland calls us home
I want the absence of time for us most
To stare into your paradise
And watch you ripen with the sun
We found something when we
Washed up on the shores of each other, didnt we
An island of our own
And yes, the convoy will come soon
And remind us that it’s not all
Still waters and white sands, but
But if we love now
Maybe we let them leave us here
And endure the storms with each other
For what we found on the beach.
