23 Oct 90 MPH (#NEWPOETS)

I don’t know why my mind finally slows
When my body is flying across the desert
I have always fled by window
While the others worked the grooves
into their chairs
And stared down the other road
When the world too easily
Chose right at the fork
I think some of us are meant
To be the devil’s advocate
Because we know he isn’t real
And god only lives
When we seize our adventure.
